Maintenance windows
How to set a preferred maintenance window and what to expect during platform maintenance.
Kisenon schedules disruptive platform operations — compute upgrades, certificate rotations, storage maintenance — inside configurable windows. Setting a preferred window tells the platform when it is least disruptive to schedule work on your tenant.
Setting a maintenance window
- Go to Settings → Maintenance in the Kisenon console.
- Pick a day of week and start time (UTC) that falls outside your peak traffic hours.
- Choose a duration between 2 and 8 hours. Longer windows give the platform more flexibility to complete work without spilling into your business hours.
- Click Save window.
The console shows your local equivalent time next to the UTC field so you can verify the window maps to the right hours in your timezone.
To remove your preference and let the platform choose freely, click Clear window.
Scheduled maintenances
The Scheduled maintenances table on the same page lists upcoming and recent platform maintenance events. Each row shows:
- Title — a short description of the work being done.
- Category — the type of operation (compute upgrade, certificate rotation, etc.).
- Scheduled — the planned start and end time in your browser's local timezone.
- Status — one of: Scheduled, In progress, Completed, or Cancelled.
Notifications
When a maintenance is less than one hour away, or actively in progress, a dismissible banner appears at the top of every page in the console. The banner shows the maintenance title, category, and scheduled time so you have context without navigating to the settings page.
Banners are dismissed for the current browser session only and reappear on the next page load.
What gets scheduled inside your window
Kisenon uses your window preference for best-effort scheduling. Operations that can be deferred (such as non-urgent compute image upgrades) will be held until your preferred window. Emergency security patches and operations that respond to active incidents are applied immediately regardless of the window preference.
